Building on the theme of yesterday’s post here, The Slog addresses the question of trust in relation to Biotech science. This as yet cowboy approach against the Covid19 virus is having its maiden flight with a crew of pig-ignorant chancers in charge, and the entirety of humanity on board.
Did you know that the great majority of scientists think that viruses are not life? The definition they use to call bacteria “life” and viruses “not life” are ludicrously arbitrary. Something is not-life when it can’t replicate without help, doesn’t multiply through cellular division, and can’t control it’s own metabolism. They allege.
Really? My definition is different: it’s life if it responds to external stimuli, and shows an ability to adapt against threats to its existence. In other words, if it thinks about survival.
Of course, robots do the first of those two things….and could no doubt be programmed to do the second – just as Hal the infamous ‘2001’ mainframe did. But equally clearly, Hal was a machine. And nobody beyond Klaus Schwab sees a machine as a potential life-form.
This subject has been a matter for debate since 1898, when viruses were first named. But there are myriad inconsistencies in the eventual “victory” of the non-lifers.
For example, some viruses do contain parts of the molecular machinery required to replicate themselves. The Mimivirus carries genes that enable the production of amino acids and other proteins required for translation – the process that for viruses turns genetic code into new viruses.
Secondly, other species universally accepted as life forms behave exactly like viruses do: very few plants can control their metabolism enough to survive at the North Pole or in equatorial deserts.
Third, “life” is riddled with things that cannot survive for long without a host. Fleas can live only a few days to at most a fortnight without a host.
But finally and above all, viruses behave like living things that don’t want to die: if attacked, they mutate. If a new weapon is developed against them, they mutate again. They think. If the intelligence to repel attack is there, then the absence of a brain is irrelevant – they respond, therefore they are. I think therefore I am. For my money, they are life forms.
Put it like this: if we ventured to another planet and discovered viruses, trust me – we would call them life.
The Hadron Collider is changing almost every idea we have about the very fuzzy line between life and non-life. Even sub-atomic ‘things’ react to obstacles.
Fast-reverse now to 2021 and legion politicians, soi-disant experts, pharmaceutical giants and half-baked media hacks insisting that non-vaccines are vaccines, that their biotech formulations are ‘harmless’ – and the corner-cut routes they took to market are perfectly normal and adequate.
Stan’s ter reason, dunnit? Michael Caine and the Queen say so, an’ thass good enough for me, roit?
BUT
logic applied to “The Science” suggests that their underlying conclusion about the lifeless nature of viruses is up there with phlogiston as a theory.
Following the science: a politician’s ultimate get-out should The Science prove to be wrong. “It wasn’t our fault. We followed The Science”. Yet already we have seen that HGT discoveries and empirical observations of Sars Covid2 are making a nonsense of the assertion that rMNA cannot influence human DNA. Nevertheless, you the political class gave all these mickey mice sorcerers immunity from prosecution…..you ignorant, murderous, arse-covering gargoyles.
Let’s just establish the uncertainty once and for all: there is no such thing as The Science, because ‘settled science’ is a contradiction in terms. The scientific community frequently skips Page 1 – and as a result, we pay for it.
You are dicing with death if you comply with their phony certainties.
