Slog fans are at loggerheads about what the new logo ‘is’. The rest of us don’t care.
For people worried about such matters, I should point out that the cricketer shown slogging the ball for six (a metaphor for what this site tries to do, do you see) is in fact enacting a stroke known as the Pull. But fierce arguing has erupted among the audience out there.
Some insist it is a Sweep. Others (mainly Kiwis) point out that the batsman is a New Zealander and why isn’t he English – to which I suppose my answer is “I’ve no idea and I think you need to up the medication”.
I was never any good at cricket (although my brother was very good at it indeed) and so for me, it’s as simple as ‘the ball’s comedown the wicket an’ ‘e’s ‘it it an’ it’s gone for six, Brian’.
It’s a thwack….which translated into my branding = A Slog.
