Financial doom (1)

Last night The Slog exclusively revealed that Alistair Darling had been quick off the mark to exploit Gordon’s weakness over the bullying scandal. Tonight Sky News told us why, as Jeff Randall interviewed The Chancellor.

Mr Darling said that after giving an interview to the Guardian in 2008 (where he predicted that the recession would be the worst in 60 years) ‘the forces of hell’ were ‘unleashed’ on him.

He was asked whether the briefing was by Downing Street and he said ‘Yes, and the Tories jumped on the bandwagon too.’

So then, that must have been our Prime Minister who never bullies anyone doing that. Media bullying is presumably not counted like physical bullying….but I can’t see why: which would you rather have – the evil Mandy bringing Beelzebub to bear upon your psyche, or a clip around the earhole from yer Dad?

One also presumes that must have been the very same G-spot who saw all of this coming…but not when somebody else was saying it.

If anyone deserved to ring a bullying helpline, it’s Darling. But it seems as though he can look after himself.

I just find it odd bordering on surreal that the finance man in a Government facing election (or otherwise) can openly admit that the bloke supposedly running the show was dumping on him from a great height for telling the truth.

But I’m just an old-fashioned guy. I must’ve been born yesterday.
