Today marks the start of a new Slog series inviting readers to Open Their Eyes to abusive lying in Britain

A major Law Reform Charity today recounted instances where testimony given in Stafford Family Courts by experts had been inaccurate and invented.

The Environmental Law Centre (ELC) has told The Slog of instances where child psychiatrists consulting for Stafford social services have been bullied into giving false evidence. The motivations varied from a desire to cover up human rights abuse through to a desire to silence parents ‘diagnosed’ with personality disorders that were not present. For legal reasons – aka gagging orders – the specific cases cannot be named; but an ELC aide told us:

“I have had expert friends say to me ‘Look – it’s my livelihood….either I toe the line or they’ll take me off their list’. In other cases I have sat in Secret Family Courts and heard a judge say to a critical expert witness, ‘Go away and come back when you have thought again about this opinion'”.

Last week, senior ELC aide Dr Karta Badshar confirmed the Slog research that identified scammer George Hibbert. Other victims have continued to contact us in relation to widespread use of controlling and illegal measures by Staffs social services during a variety of cases.

But once again (you must all be getting tired of this line) they cannot be named for legal reasons.

These accusation are widespread in Staffordshire and beginning to be reported in the local press.

Why isn’t Social Services head Peter Traves denying them?
