Tory HQ denies Cameron ‘reconsidering’ election strategy advice

Hilton….looking over shoulder?

The Conservative Party press office this morning dismissed rumours of a change in David Cameron’s adviser line-up as ‘utter and total nonsense’. So rabid was the denial, in fact, The Slogger was left considering all those other ‘utter nonsenses’ he’s been offered over the years.

Mind you, we did post a not entirely pleasant piece about the existing sages around Dave last night, so perhaps that explains the vehemence of the response.

“The Ken Clarke comeback gossip was treated to the same response” a Commons source told The Slog this morning, “But the fact is that lots of us are assuming David is getting heat about the campaign being too cerebral at the moment. And that is a criticism aimed at Hilton”.
