Slog subscribers have been emptying shops using our cheap wine alerts for years. This is now being extended to all readers.
The Dino Sangiovese di Romagna is a Ferrari of a wine for four quid. Sangiovese is usually a pretty safe grape, but this Selezione No 6 at Tesco is a belter. It weighs in at only 12% and is therefore ideal for those who can’t always wait for sundown.
This isn’t fine wine; but it is a solid, higher quality Italian drink for which one would normally have to fork out over twice as much as this.
As you know, I am no fan of Tescopoly….but as this a loss-leader (and thus likely to accelerate the company’s bankruptcy) it comes highly recommended.
