Martin Wolf and the financial Doomsday machine.

It goes against the grain for me to offer free plugs to the old media, but in the case of Martin Wolf, one has to make an exception for genius.

Wolf’s genius lies on two dimensions: a brain the size of Asia, and an ability to simplify from which many politicians could well benefit.

His piece in today’s FT about bailout debt and finance/economy master-servant relationships is a shining light of erudite clarity in a sector stuffed with jargon and bollocks. (The link to it is in the opening line above).

Having given the Pink ‘un this free plug, I will make amends: the paper is now charging for premium content a la Wolf. But if you simply take the article title and Google it, you’ll get through to such pieces anyway. The loophole will doubtless be closed one day; but for the moment, you might as well use it.
