REVEALED: WHY NONE OF THE PARTIES WANTS TO TALK ABOUT CUTS

The Labour Party is vilifying the Tories because of £6 billion of spending cuts.
The Liberal Democrats would make cuts of less than this.
The Government has refused to issue a spending review, because it doesn’t want to admit how much it would cut.
The IMF, Institute of Fiscal Studies, Daily Politics TV Show, and the FT all agree that the amount required to hit the Government target for debt repayment is

£40 billion

Yesterday, The Slog used Treasury sources to make clear just how big the cuts would have to be. That report showed why deep cuts plus huge tax increases are unavoidable. Gordon Brown’s promises about ring-fenced budgets and protection of frontline services are simply not achievable.

All the political Parties – and especially the Government – are lying to you about this necessity. Remember this when you cast your vote.
