Leakers may not as yet be talking about Torylib coalition details, but inside the Labour Party the sluice gates have been reopened.
So far, The Slog has been able to establish (with reasonable certainty) the following:
* David Miliband is to stand as a candidate.
* Mandy told Brown he was an obstacle to talks with the LibDems, but a bonus if he remained as Prime Minister. Brown has been volunteered for oblivion because Mandy and Adonis think Cleggite interest can be rekindled if Gordon is out of the picture.
* Labour heavies believe the Torylib coalition talks have hit a wall.
* Balls is happily unhappy about his mentor’s long overdue downfall.
* Ed Miliband will stand if Balls does, in the hope of splitting the Brownite vote and letting his brother in.
* The LibDems are now back to negotiating with the Resistance they were talking to before the Election
* A substantial minority of Labour MPs think the Party should go into Opposition “and let the other two make a balls of it”.
The Slog has little in the way of concrete evidence about the LibDem/Tory coalition talks progress, bar another hint from Non-political Source as follows:
“Take note of the emphasis in Liberal Democrat statements on ‘stable government’.”
I think my new best friend is telling me that the LibDem Parliamentary elite propose to crush grassroots opposition with this popular patriotism card.
