The Sun and YouGov poll on the Leeber Ladyship contest published today suggests that Ed Balls should stop conferring with his imaginary friend, and pull out.

David Miliband is in the lead by really rather a lot: 29% compared to 7% for Ed Miliband, and 6% for Ed Balls.

YouGov also asked which candidate would make respondents least likely to vote Labour. Ed Balls emerged as the potential leader most likely to stop people voting Labour (27% of all voters).

It may also be a matter of some concern for Ed Balls that even 20% of Labour voters said he’d put them off voting Labour. On that basis, even Hattie Harman looks like a relatively sensible choice.
