Unconfirmed reports are reaching us here (picked up in slightly different form at AP) that a serious nuclear mishap in North Korea has resulted in a major radiation leak.
Asian sources confirmed this morning that large radiation increases picked up by South Korea are not down to any nuclear explosion or test, and therefore must be the result of an experimental or industrial accident.
Early speculation suggests that North Korea’s fusion programme may be the source of whatever leakage has occurred.
