The latest wildly condemnatory response from Islam is, lest we forget, to a book-burning that didn’t take place. The President has condemned the idea. Even Sarah Palin has condemned it. Apart from the guy with the eccentric mutton-chop sideboards, pretty much every American has condemned the idea.

Now take a look at the picture at the head of this article….from Afghanistan – a country the US is trying to help out, however misguided and naive that offer of help might be. Help that is costing plenty of European and American lives – none of whom are on a religious crusade.

If you reversed the situation, and had Christians responding to misogyny, brutalism, dictatorship, beheading, stoning and all the rest of it, would they look as wronged and angry in that shot above?

Christianity was an insane, murderous and intolerant religion six hundred years ago. Its intolerance led to the formation of the American Republic. Today, radical Islam is in exactly the same phase. We delude ourselves if we forget this reality.
