Adam Boulton and the Spectrum of Madness

Adam tries to see Iain Dale’s point

Allow me to draw your attention to a couple of Telegraph pieces this morning, one very serious and one less so.

There’s an absolute belter from Ambrose Evans-Pritchard about 1st world nations land-grabbing at the expense of the 3rd….food shortages mania. This represents what I’m starting to call the Push Meets Shove epoch. Anyway, highly recommended.

Also in the DT is a well-observed but unintentionally funny one from Hannan of the Lower Fourth about daft media questions. Adam Boulton at Sky annoyed Daniel by linking the Tea Partygoers to the Mad Pastor. DH sees this as rampantly teapartyist.

Boulton did indeed have his insanity spectrum in a bit of a twist, which makes a change from his knickers. But seefingizzroit, all things are relative.

As we all know, Pastor Jones is bright-red bonkers, whereas the Tea Party folks are merely orange barmy. Next come the Chinese, whose neo-potty colonialism is by definition yellow; the warmists who are sort of green obsessive crackers; the Tory Right turning blue with bottled-up anti-Coalition loonyism; the media who will write stories about any idiot on the indigo principle (‘It’s a slow news day, in-dey-go’) and finally, the Islamists at the other end who are a bright shade of psycho violence, sorry, violet.

This leaves only the EU, which cannot tell black from white – as the Slog’s Norway/Greece con story suggested rather forcibly yesterday. Rather like the civil service pensions fraud, nobody either here or in Norway seems to give a monkeys about any of it, so for the time being I’m going to drop it and move on, as the Frenchman said about his rifle.
