No, I’m not going off my trolley.
Since I blogged about the links to this site from the old Blogger site being broken, they have been restored.
I have spoken to a couple of search engine techies, both of whom confirm that spoiling tactics like these are routine behaviour.
Since I blogged about some readers seeing Google ads on this WordPress site, screen capture has clearly established that they exist – always so far with people using non-Firefox Explorer browsers.
There is definitely an early block of set-up code allowing Google to upload ads. I didn’t put it there.
Tomorrow I’m going to contact the advertisers involved and ask why they’re placing ads at The Slog without my permission.
I have been aproached by two readers privately and one via the comment threads alleging that Google regularly provides a service to those who wish to hide from investigation. It seems to involve derogatory references being removed from their biog pages.
When there is something beyond allegations, and I’ve got something in the way of answers, I’ll be back to you.
This isn’t me being paranoid. It is, once again, most people being far too trusting.
