The Slog leaps to No 5 unaligned Blog author in the UK
Many, many warm, stupified and utterly shocked thanks to all those Sloggers who voted in the Total Politics Mensa IQ Test last month. The TP website (see link above) has the incredible details, but the Sun headline is that I’ve jumped 34 places since last year.
I’ve never before received an accolade for being unable to make my mind up, but I’m not knocking it. I can’t thank you all enough for your sterling support, unstinting belief, comment thread wit, and provision of stories that led the pack.
This last is heartfelt: four of the last seven major Slog stories came from Sloggers or sources introduced by them. I salute your willingness to give a big story to a tiny minnow. And I promise never to become a shark: anything given to me as unattributable will remain that way.
Just for the record – and I really can’t resist this bit of memememememeeee – The Slog is now 2 places above Nick Robinson, 7 places above Michael White, 19 above Adam Boulton, 23 above Jon Snow, and 39 above Simon Hoggart.
The goal remains the same as far as the self-appointed elites are concerned: find them out and ridicule them with radical realism. Replace them with accountable leadership.
Blimey. Again, thanks to all of you. And thanks for all of you.
John
