Tomorrow in Australia, the Reserve Bank will meet to make a crunch decision. This is how it’s billed:
Tuesday: Coffee and scones to decide how far to cut rates again.
I love the Aussies.
Today, MEPs will discuss the accountability of the G20, challenges for global governance in the 21st century and preconditions for global growth and jobs ahead of the G20 summit on 18-19 June in Los Cabos, Mexico.
These are the things I find challenging about the above: Why would the G20 care what a bunch of powerless MEPs think about them? Why might a rabble of troughers have any new ideas about jobs and growth globally, as both are shrinking? Why does the G20 need yet another meeting just a week or two after the last one had nothing to say?
The UK is closed today for business. And again tomorrow. You may think we just had Jubilee Day yesterday, but we’re going to have the real one tomorrow.
Where are all the articles in the Daily Telegraph saying that this sends a signal that Britain is not open for business?
Fox hunting may have gone, but crass bunting is here to stay.
