When I ended this morning’s post with “I’m off” it seems a lot of folks thought I meant “leaving the internet and going to Bolivia”.
Not a bit of it: I’m going back to continental Europe where I will from now on have my main base. Time to put down one set of roots, buy Things, grow things, and abandon cash, banks, tax collectors etc etc. Money, mouth, where is and so on.
There is a “next stage” coming up, for both me and the blog. I love this medium and will stay in it: but what was once an open range is rapidly turning into 50 million wannabe Murdochs putting up barbed wire – the barbed part being rather appropriate on the whole. Even the bloody Daily Telegraph censored me yesterday.
I don’t see any point in doing this any more unless it has a positive and discernible effect. This will be the entire focus from here on.
Please keep the faith and pass on the word. As Old Holborn (these days farming in Bolivia) so rightly said, “There are 62 million of us, and only 620 of them”.
