90% of fieldwork took place before the FBI emails news

The odds on Donald Trump’s chances of becoming the next US President shortened last night as a joint ABC/Washington Post survey showed a ten-point swing to the billionaire.

ABC confirmed that “over 90%” of the interviews were conducted before the new stage of the Hillary Clinton emails scandal broke. Trump is now within two percentage points of his rival.

And in a trend we saw in the Brexit vote with a week to go, Republicans are showing a greater likelihood of voting versus Democrats.

All eyes are now on FBI Director Comey, and what polls conducted after his letter to Congress have to say.

On Clinton, personally reckon they are making her life more comfortable in office by cleaning her now because she could be asked too many questions.

Found innocent of all wrongdoing by the FBI in Nov 2016 is a great line.

As the FBI has said that there are 650,000 emails on Weiner’s laptop, it is highly unlikely Comey can even come close to saying there’s nothing to see here, move along swiftly….

Some sites, like ZH, who are reporting on this appear to be under constant attack to put readers off. I keep being re-directed as a ‘Google user’ to my prize of a new iPhone and this evening had a bright red banner across my screen warning me that ZH was an attack site and could infect my computer. The war for the election has gone hot!

(Save that it is the direct result of the moderator/blog owner themselves).

Comey has secured himself a Get Out Of Jail Free card with this action.
It may not lead to anything substantial, but there was always the possibility that he had been pressured to paint himself into a corner, come what may.
So the Weiner angle could just be the escape route that he and the FBI needed.
This above, if it all turns out to be a damp squib.
Still, at the end of the day, Get Out Of Jail Free suckers!

Mr. Comey may have had a grand jury moment when considering all the people that Obama is likely to pardon and him not being on that list. He has an obligation to do a job under law, and there is one story without confirmation that he has been muzzled by the AG, Loretta Lynch. Carl Bernstein said that he had heard loud rumblings from the US intel community for 2 days preceeding the announcement.
The hardest thing to ignore is that there is no denial by Clinton, or any of her employees or donors these emails and the schemes described are not the real thing. Yet the first thing the campaign does is vilify their former hero. They risked everything on the Comey speech vindicating them for all but playful stupidity. They had the contents of the release by AG Lynch. They could have used her (could have does not mean I am naive) to obstruct Comey. She will get a pardon however, from either Obama or Clinton II. We will see who the criminals are when they are pardoned.
Is any US media outlet going to be honest if the owner has a stake in Clinton Inc.?

@ Gemma – Wrt the parlous state of bin collecting in parts of the UK, in reality when compared to the US, the British have had a very good deal for a long time. For example, property taxes here, whilst often 3 or more times higher than the UK, do not include rubbish removal, which is paid for separately and is not cheap. Bearing in mind that the US is a huge country that in theory should not have the same waste disposal problems as the UK. Moreover, not only is street cleaning also not included and depends on residents’ own responsibility but the latter are also obliged to regularly mow the sidewalks beside their house.
Imagine how the Brits would baulk at this imposition on their time and resources!

Thank you for your help. You are correct the stance the aide took makes it clear not sufficient safeguards had been taken.
In addition to your comments I also found server had been registered in a persons name who did not exist but was similar to the Clinton aide who had cleared Whitehouse of furniture when Clintons vacated in previous occupation. The person who wiped emails is alleged to have posted question on an IT forum asking how to wipe/change a VIPs name from emails. He was told this was not possible.
None of this behaviour you would associate with an IT person working on a server handling confidential/restricted information.

As I understand it those questions were asked. The folks when asked those very questions pleaded the 5th. despite them already having been granted immunity from prosecution. For details just google ’emails 5th’.

In any reasonable country Clinton should have been sunk then. On the other hand as someone somewhere rather contemptuously commented, ‘If she murdered a child in full view of the public the hard core would still vote for her’.

Anecdotally from friends returning from the States, it would appear that even traditionally Dem states like California are a sea of Trump signs. Virtually everyone these friends conversed with down there will quietly admit an intention to either avoid the poll-booth or vote for Trump. Interesting times indeed. I just wonder if Trump is the right wing version of Obama – hope and change but set to deliver more of the same police-state and banker-controlled criminality. I hope I am wrong.

Joining the dots on why Hillary Clinton is being re-investigated

John – you say you are perplexed by what is happening. The answer to this one is all available to you on the internet. You should be able to independently substantiate all this yourself with internet research.

For the past two months, Julian Assange has promised the ‘October surprise’. He has just delivered it. He will not be given credit for it by the media because to do that would give Assange credibility (the establishment want him demonised and locked up forever as an example) and to point out Assange and chums’ involvement would be to point out that, er, yes the story is true. Hillary has been caught red-handed.

Wikileaks exposed the fact that the man heading up the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton (Andrew McCabe) received a $675,000 bribe after the investigation into Hillary was opened. McCabe was bribed to close the investigation.

This bribe was funnelled to Andrew McCabe via the route of his wife’s longshot political campaign. It was sent there by the Clintons’ old Lincoln bedroom broker Terry McAuliffe.

Just in case you cannot connect the dots, Hillary has been caught raising money for Terry McAuliffe’s Superpac.

So Hillary is raising money for a SuperPac, which was started three days after the FBI investigation into her was opened. And that money all neatly wings its way back to the head of that FBI investigation.

So this is what took place: money to Hillary, money to McAuliffe, money to the two McCabes.

Look what happens 48 hours after the Wikileaks dump. The FBI announces it is reopening the investigation into Hillary. Why? Because if the FBI does not prosecute Hillary Clinton, FBI man Andrew McCabe, who led the investigation that initially cleared Hillary of wrongdoing, faces bribery charges.

McCabe has realised he has been caught by Wikileaks receiving a bribe from Hillary. I repeat, they have caught Hillary raising money for a SuperPac that Clinton henchman Terry McAulliffe then used to funnel the money to Andrew McCabe’s wife. That is a direct bribe.

An FBI man has been caught red-handed receiving a bribe. Either McCabe or Clinton is in serious trouble at this point. With Assange forcing the FBI’s hand by exposing their corruption, the FBI has quickly thrown Clinton under the bus because they need to save their own butt.

The FBI have to show to the world they are not corrupt but for that (wrongful) impression to be made, the investigation into Hillary must be re-opened.

By reopening the investigation, the FBI can publicly say: ‘No, we were not bribed – look, we re-opened the investigation.’ Rubbish. Their hand was forced by Assange. It’s McCabe or Clinton. And for the FBI, it won’t be McCabe.

It looks very much as if Assange – who had his internet cut off by the staff in the Ecuadorian embassy in the build-up to this election – has found a way to check mate Clinton, to win the election for Trump and, perhaps, win a pardon.

It’s pure checkmate genius on the part of Assange. He had his hands tied by having the internet taken off him (after political pressure on the Ecuadorians no doubt from America), but others loyal to him have delivered the goods.

It’s breathtaking genius. Verify it all yourself and see if you can come to any other conclusion.

I have come to this issue late and may have missed some of earlier revelations but when undertaking an email investigation it would be comprehensive and not just look at emails;
i) who set up the server did they speak with government security officials when doing this,
ii) where were the emails stored,
iii) who had access to the server and what was their security clearance,
iv) who deleted emails, what guidance did they have and when wand how was this done,
v) US Government has build standards for computers for certain levels of information were these adhered to.
vi) Who and how was server maintained the server? what clearance did they have?
vii) How many devices could connect to the server and what were they.
It is possible numerous breaches of security occurred in the above areas.

Meanwhile, back in Blighty, there was a front page headline that swiftly disappeared off the radar. It turns out that austerity really is biting hard into the pocket of the British subject: in some regions, bins are only being emptied every three weeks.

Thank goodness Britain’s leaving the EU, they might find themselves up against some EU health legislation. (Well, of course, with Theresa’s plan for de-legislating EU laws, these will now become British laws instead… all of ’em!! Brexit is a very odd animal indeed!).

The Clinton vs Sanders “selection” was run under a bus in the classic American manner… with unelected super-delegates swinging the choice in the appropriate manner.

If they do allow her to become pres can you imagine the reaction of the US military other than those wearing ‘capo’ badges … I mean who would want to die for what is obviously a criminal mafia organization?

I don’t believe that the Deep State has hung HRC out to dry, I think that perhaps they’re not entirely sure what to do about a difficult problem, if it is true that Hillary can’t muster a crowd and Trump’s are overwhelming then an outright election fix might be an issue a bridge too far for some and then again it might be easier to manipulate a political novice then a hardened political expert with an ex-president for a husband, as the complexities of a situation increase so does the neccessary solution have to be thought through very carefully. There is much at stake with heavily armed populace.

It appears that hubris is actively seeking nemesis in an increasing number of locations. There must inevitably be a tipping point in the long slide towards self-destruction which has gripped our world for too long: sooner or later a sufficient number of people will cry ‘enough’. The American Dream has become a nightmare which the American people desperately need to wrench themselves away from and many of them clearly recognise this. In Europe, the French police are getting very hacked off indeed and current conditions look more and more unsustainable. The realisation of this will, as always, happen in two ways: gradually, then suddenly. If not now, then soon.

Word from Washington is that the FBI has reopened the Hillary because of her violation of US National Security protocols, not because of the content of the new email releases, but because voter support for Trump seems to be overwhelming, while Hillary has cancelled appearances due to inability to muster a crowd.

So, as usual it is anybody’s guess.

Trump has been tight from the get go and the dems have money to throw around.
Squeeze them both by bringing the figures closer together.
Perhaps worth considering that Trump may have been ahead since day one.

What is interesting to me is how selective the UK media BBC included has been in it’s treatment of Trump, only reporting negative issues but ignoring the anti-wall street , anti political establishment (Washington DC) , anti Corporate USA, anti controlled media. I was listening to a short series of clips on http://www.BroVids.com “Trump in the Eye of the storm” which featured much from Trump the establishment does not want you to hear. Even Michael Moore has been backing him. Trump is selling himself as the USA Brexiter. If he does say some dumb things it’s just because he is not a schooled member of the political class , he is the first non Wall street whore since Ross Perot and if elected under no circumstances should he go to Dallas.

It is interesting that with no new information the same pollsters ( and I use the term advisedly) reduce the margin to two points. This gap is error margin stuff, so the poll is saying that the race is tied. This is consistent with what the LA Times and Rasmussen polls have been showing a tied race for some time.
I use the word interesting, because one of the Podesta dumps has an email from John Podesta, advising how Democratic friendly pollsters can tweak the polling to goal-seek a favorable result for Hillary Clinton. This playbook has been faithfully followed by the likes of CNN, NBC, ABC and AP until exposure by Wikileaks. Closer scrutiny of these ‘oversampling’ tweaks has made it harder to defend what is essentially propaganda for the Democatic Party.

Absolutely Harry: it’s not hard to do, and very difficult to prove. One can take cells of, say, high support for Clinton, and add a few on for each in a way that can’t be told from natural likelihood of occurrence. And/or you can bias the questionnaire slightly – via spoken word – to favour a pro-Clinton response.
This new one is a + or – 3% error margin sample size: so either HillaryBilly is 5 pts ahead, or Trump is 1 ahead, at the extremes.

Finally, in a case where one candidate or Party is, shall we say, a bit off the wall – Trump, Farage, Wildeers, Green, Golden Dawn etc – respondents lie: occasionally out of sheer anti-Establishment bloody-mindedness, more often because they don’t want to be thought ‘silly’.

After the first few weeks, I stuck with the LA Times’ poll: it’s the one to keep an eye on in my view.
