John Ward November 13, 2018 Dateline November 2018: who killed Brexit, and why

EXPLOSIVE: a plain man’s guide to Brexit reality, & the eight Brexit murderers named.

methink2 In negotiating with Brussels, the Prime Minister’s EU-loyal Cabinet and Whitehall cabal have employed one central tactic over the last twelve months: to leave every ordinary British citizen completely confused, bamboozled and exhausted to the point of apathy on the subject of Brexit. The Slog offers the antidote to that cynical snake-bite, and suggests where the real blame for this disaster lies.

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

As the clock ticks away towards five to crunch – and Radio Boris broadcasts ever more frantically that it will hold the coat (and indeed, act as the second) for any person or group willing to behead the Siren – I thought it might be both instructive and fun to take a forensic view of the process formerly known as Brexit, but now more commonly referred to in polite society as ReMayn.

The Daily Telegraph’s page on “Brexit” progress hasn’t been updated since September 28th, which sort of gives a clue as to the real pace of what’s happening. However, it is willing to confirm the following realities:

  • In the 594 days devoted to leaving the EU so far under Article 50, this is the state of play on the twelve areas to be agreed before we can pretend to exit, but really ReMayn: Areas agreed 1, Disputed areas being discussed 8, Deadlocked disagreements 3.
  • There are just 136 out of 730 days left. So we have pissed away roughly four fifths of the time (over 80%) but just 8% of the issues are agreed. Something tells me this is one contract unlikely to be delivered on time. But then, that’s normal for Whitehall.
  • The Chequers “plan” states that the UK must no longer be under the “direct” jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice. But the ECJ will keep a role, “limited” to eight years, over citizens’ rights. Eight years, I might add, during which  Brussels could funnel all kinds of nonsense through that Court….and there would be diddly-squat, zero, finito Benito, nothing any British Government could do about it. So that would not be a Sovereign Brexit.
  • Downing Street insists that there will be “no” restriction on the UK’s potential to make trade deals beyond the EU, but admits that the extent of the deals with those outside of the EU may be curtailed by the common rulebook. As Mother Theresa is up for agreeing to the Queensberry rules, then what we really have here is no restriction except for, um, any restriction the controllers of the rules come up with. And the book would be under the control of Brussels….which as we know has such an unblemished record of fair play. So that would not be a Sovereign Brexit either.
  • The Government wants to restrict inward UK migration to highly-skilled workers only. But Olly Robbins & Partners have already accepted the idea of migrant residency for two years – even if the skill level of such people does not extend to tying shoelaces without assistance. If that represents a Sovereign Brexit, then what happened to the Red Line called control of our own borders? Jihadists skilled solely in the art of separating brains from bodies will be made welcome for at least two years. Time & Motion research suggests that, during these 730 days, much sought after workers like these could behead 10,000 innocent British citizens….and the Mayor of London would still call any reaction to this “Islamophobia”. The only admirable thing about this possibility is that – in terms of productivity – it puts the Brexit negotiation process to eternal shame.
  • Britain’s financial settlement on leaving the EU will come to around £35-£39 billion (€40-45 billion). There is nothing whatever in the Lisbon Treaty or Article 50 that makes any reference whatsoever to a “Divorce Bill” on leaving the EU. For fifteen months now, ReMayner troll swarms have been insisting that this sum represents ongoing responsibilities to which we’ve already signed up. This was and still is a lie. The Devil in the detail shows very clearly that such liabilities are covered by – direct quote here – ‘pensions and outstanding loan liabilities’. These are in addition to the forty billion Pounds: the £40bn is a blackmail demand in return for our right to leave the EU, and as such would be instantly dismissed by any objective World Trade court of Law if the UK Government objected to it. Philip Hammond pretends otherwise. Philip Hammond is a tried and tested serial 24-carat liar.

—————————————–

For all Brits with an attention span extending beyond that of an educationally subnormal gnat, I have tried to make clear in the foregoing 730 words the true extent of the lies they are being asked to swallow about this being a “Brexit” close to satisfactory conclusion, a genuine Brexit where our Sovereign independence is restored, and a Brexit with at least some genetic inheritance from what wise Britons vote for in July 2016.

But if I may here, I’d like to assign some very clear accountability about why this happened. This is not to engage in what I call blamestorming: rather, it is to remind those with native, emotional and historical intelligence of just how badly many British People have behaved since the Referendum.

The buck stops with these groups:

  1. Those of a high IQ and narrow view who have engaged in slovenly thinking (about the EU and all its works) purely as a means of insulting the clinical wisdom of empirical behaviourists and clear-sighted experience of the mature citizen.
  2. A Whitehall-based Civil Service that prepared nothing whatsoever in the way of contingency planning in the event of an unexpected vote to leave the EU. This was more than just a gross dereliction of duty: it was a perversion of the first principle of every bureaucracy – to objectively protect the citizens who pauper themselves to provide Mandarins with massive salaries and pensions most people can only dream about.
  3. The media whores who have printed lies that the GigaRich 3% need to purvey, rather than supporting what the majority of voters desired.
  4. The various Alt States determined to put their military-financial-industrial madness (in the shape of NATO, the IMF and Wall Street) before the wellbeing and fulfilment of EU citizens.
  5. The International Socialist ideologues in the British Labour Party who seem to put their own parochial desires for Power at any Price before their Greek Left comrades, the British electorate they represent, and the Italian People.
  6. The selfish, smug and generally ingratiating cowards in the Conservative Party who threaten constantly to huff and puff….but never quite blow away the pigs who bankroll them. They are, veritably, sheep in wolves’ clothing.
  7. The EU pensioners, motivated solely by their Brussels Shilling and longer-term fantasies of unaccountable power. Let’s name names: Lord Mandelson, Neil ‘Windbag’ Kinnock, Lord Hill, Chris Patten, Christopher Soames, Nick Clegg and Baron Thomson of Monifieth….who are but a few of the gravy-trainers.
  8. The unpensioned who have nevertheless benefited from the corrupt media and organisational largesse of the European Union: Tony Blair, Alistair Campbell, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, David Miliband, Chuka Umunna, Chris Leslie, Anna Soubry, Alison McGovern, and Vince Cable.

—————————————–

Mixed in with this appalling Roll Call of the ethically dead are other factors such as sheer incompetence, naivety, distraction and and impenetrable complexity. But despite that, I put this post out there as (hopefully) an indestructible source for future unbiased historians….should such an exalted Club ever be allowed to exist.

JW thanks for the ultra enlightening essay which puts Brexit matters into a fitting, up to date perspective. I’m hoping you won’t give up commenting about same, although I imagine you are sick and tired of doing so. You’re warning back in 2016 just after the surprise Referendum result, when you stated all was not over, [or words to that effect] has proved to be spot on. And the Establishment will win the day as you’ve forecast. Depressing.

Why do you think that this period in history is any different to any other period in history? It’s the way it is right now, We have to deal with a new paradigm, not the golden past you seem to think we should return to.

Thank you John for dissecting this Exit for me. Thank God you didn’t retire last week. It really is appalling as it is all about power and money for a few and damn the rest who happen to be the millions of good, bad and ugly folk who live in Europe. The word ‘pensions’ particularly pricked my interest as I, along with a whole generation of British women have been told we can’t draw our paltry state pension for another 7 years after we were promised. Even though it is our money! We are told to go out and get a job or be an apprentice plumber on £3.40 an hour (we are by the way, women aged over 60). What a disgraceful way for a civilised nation to treat its mothers, teachers, nurses or just bloody ex-bankers like me. We don’t matter though as we are not male ex-bankers so we don’t really count. I guess that my money has gone to pay Nick Clegg, Vince Cable at al their MPs pensions that are entirely funded by the taxpayer. Not that I should mind as Mr Clegg is obviously going to have some major relocation costs to find soon as he flees to California. Maybe I should roll up on his doorstep and ask for a job cleaning his restroom.

From the Dept of Swirling Rumours, useless TreasonMay sycophant, Graham, is close to getting the necessary 28 letters! But as she gonged him, has he got the cojones to abandon the trough and actually release the info asap? Right now, we have the Afternoon of the Long Envelopes, the supposedly one-on-one TreasonMay pep talks with Conservative MPs. Joke, the room will be bugged better than Erdogan’s security services did at the Saudi Embassy! There might not be so many screams, as The Mossad will clean it up for TreasonMay.

John, your analysis is masterly, as usual. Thank you, I agree with every word ……. and wobble between despair and stoicism. Bad moon rising.

Having heard what the agreement is, eternal customs union, I think my plan above for joining the Euro and Schengen but leaving the EU is better. The only difference is I was attempting humour and these clowns are not.

Little bits of stuff are getting out and being heated up.(easy targets I’m thinking)
Watchout for info getting onto the msm regarding folk who move about a bit…..The system money tree does not keep up with them and is causing acute poverty …. to some of those folk ….. Some have manicured nails. Do not laugh. One of things the money tree staff have to look out for when dealing with suspect claims.

Just had the odious Alistair Campbell on the Brexit Radio Scotland phone in this morning, if ever a man should have been encased in the pillars of the Kingston Bridge , he is that man. If I had a pound for every time he said “peoples vote” in his very lengthy political broadcast I and my good lady wife would be on our way to Glasgow airport and off somewhere sunny right now.
Since Scotland was pretty much in favour of staying in the EU gulag , the listener views on the process were interesting but mainly in favour of getting on with it. The biggest concern being for the protection of our fishermen and the Irish border and not letting the Irish get more than us.
No one mentioned that the Irish cross border trade amounted to about 1.5% of trade and it seems to be mainly milk tankers and some farm beasts. Nor that our trade with the EU is barely 40% of our global trade , nor that there are 4 million + EU citizens working and begging in the UK and only 1.5 million UK citizens abroad and most of those are retired and currently working on restoring the housing stock of their settled country.
I think when the dust settles next March both our obsolete political parties will rapidly be condemned to the trash can of history , as the Declaration of Independence nicely put it

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations,
pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design
to reduce them under absolute Despotism,
it is their right, it is their duty,
    to throw off such Government,
and to provide new Guards for their future security”.

The sooner it starts the better.

Well, the test of BRINO will be a UKIP telling 17.4m – those who have died – those who changed view that UKIP WILL deliver a proper Brexit.

There has to be a GE by 2022 so if Brexit is still desired and anger exists, UKIP will destroy a divided remainer community if Brexit trumps voter apathy/tribal loyalty.

UKIP will be gagging for a GE in 2019 I think….

One wonders if the UK will stay partnered long enough to allow for all sort of financial chincanery when the International Ponzi scheme blows up?

I admire the want (sometimes) of Scotland wish to leave the UK, but to then jump into bed with the EU seems rather misguided. But there again, the printing presses of the EU are bigger and were always going to be more attractive than the printing presses of the UK. Better also to be a small dog getting scraps from the EU Empire.

Man never bites the hand that feeds them.

A European army. But is it? She never used the phrase. What she actually said was „Wir müssen eine europäische Eingreifstruppe schaffen mit dem Europa auch am Ort des Geschehens handeln kann.“

A European aggressive intervention force – not a defence force and not an army, but a battalion, a militia, to intervene ‘on the spot against non-violent extremists?

Good article about the proposed stitch-up. But as one Lady PM said many years ago Democracy will die when the people who pay for it, find out that all the benefits that they get from their political masters [who only use the peoples money to bribe the people for their own votes]

The UK [and the EU/USA] are rapidly approaching that tipping point.

The following web site [somewhat dated] makes a clear point of how the debt in the west is growing [even in the German Republic, that pillar of fiscal stability]

    http://www.nationaldebtclock.co.uk/
    http://www.staatsschuldenuhr.de/
    http://www.dettepublique.fr/
    http://www.theusdebtclock.com/

The above are the four main countries [there are links to others] but the main thing the Politicians ignore [and most people may not understand] is the rise of debt when % is applied to %.

It is only a matter of time when the debt becomes unserviceable [not to mention any unplanned for % rate rises and it will be every man/country for itself [and stuff the rhetoric of peace and harmony between peoples and nations]

I expect the cabinet to roll over to have their collective stomachs rubbed on Wednesday; would love to be wrong, but can’t see it. Having said that I can’t see any benefit in anyone resigning, they have to rebel and confront May. If they resign they will simply be replaced, thus weakening the Brexit influence. She is going to threaten and berate them until she gets what she wants.

Anyone know how the vote in parliament will work? If she does not get a majority what happens then? What if it is a close vote, what happens then? I know the majority of MPs are Remoaners, contrary to the wishes of the referendum, what will ‘the people’ have to say about a betrayal by MPs?

I have long thought that you overthink Brexit and the only option left is to have some fun. So let’s adopt the Euro and retain FoM then just sit back and laugh (with popcorn) while everyone tries to figure out what the hell happened. Then we could have a referendum on whether we should have a referendum. Then another referendum to see if we were sure we wanted another referendum which would probably require a confirmation referendum.

Come on guys, you know I’m on a winner here.

I’ve said all along that our only real hope has always been the total implosion of the EU. In these last two years the British media seems to have had an embargo on news from places like Greece concerning economic collapse and uncontrollable illegal immigration with its accompanying atrocities and crime. But you can bet these things have been nibbling away at the underbelly of the EU all this time.
Next up, the Law of Unintended Consequences will come into play as, in their hubris and arrogance, they try to establish an army and an empire. Let’s see how the real superpowers respond to that.

You are quite right of course John. I can only say that everything is progressing just as I thought (and said) it would. Note that Madam May is interviewing all the potential troublemakers in private one to one. An old and well used process all the better to frighten and browbeat them into line telling each one the others have agreed etc. etc.

As I have said several times, I do not see the vote failing when it is put to the Commons, whatever Corby says or the DUP does, there are just too many MPs who want Remain. I suppose it is possible there could be a situation where it is voted down so a new government could simply ditch the whole idea, but that is rather a perilous path for Remain to take. No, unless May is brought down or thinks she will be before it is put to Parliament, nothing will stop BRINO. Only the people she is meeting with tonight can do anything on that by resigning and even then she could still rush it to Parliament before there is a vote of confidence, or whatever they call it now.

I live in a very affluent part of the country, just been to my town centre. Have not been there for a couple of years, as I have no need. High street either had trendy wine bars or pubs, fast food restaurants and charity shops. However, noticed the large number of homeless.
Programme on BBC1 about Universal Credit. Poll Tax had riots, this Universal Credit will top that for the poor!
Brexit could get the middle class (along with fracking) to say we have had enough stomp their feet and curl their bottom lip or throw bricks
