The consequences of going progressively backwards

Many of you will have noticed that most of the financial markets are going all the way up for part of the day…..and then all the way down again. It’s called ‘profit taking’ or ‘directionalising’, but it is neither: it is a gross perversion of how and why the bourses first started, and it is non-stop, naked milk-the-saps exploitation to boot.

These people are not providing liquidity for dynamic entrepreneurial growth: they’re making blood money for the already morbidly obese investment house giants who want the last sou out of naifs because owning everything from the media to the White House isn’t enough for them….they won’t be happy until they’ve got our money too.

That opener isn’t me trying to be George Carlin reborn. As some of you will have spotted by now, I’m not an economist: I dropped the economics subsidiary course after the first year at Uni, telling my Canadian professor I thought it was all con and claptrap. The existence of Elon Musk as one of the richest men on the planet does, I dare to suggest, tend to support that opinion fifty-seven years on.

My skills are based on using eternal learnings from history, the psychology of socio-cultural and commercial communication, studying tribalism, exploring every kind of safari, a lifelong interest in why Empires fail, what metaphysics and the quantum tell us about the Universe we inhabit, and having gathered a mass of data to show that the greatest danger Man faces – still – is the closed-mind cancer of ideology.

This last lockstep-groupthink tendency is running more and more of our planet in the 21st century, and without doubt enjoys a powerful ascendency today. Dark Age thinking is everywhere – settled science, liberal correctness, stakeholder capitalism, World Health, climate change, New Normality, cancel culture, reprogramming, NWO, Silicon Valley, digital currencies, transhumanism and the allegedly inevitable geopoltical blocism that is the ‘only possible future’ in a world that is ‘irreversibly’ globalist.

It is all self-fulfilling prophecy in favour of State Control, and quite rightly evokes among the open-minded citizen demographic the traditional sarcastic irony of, “What on Earth could go wrong with that then?”

The US election [if and when it ever actually happens] is not going to be Donald Trump versus Kamala Harris, even less Republicans versus Democrats. It already is what it is: a tussle between two approaches to policy…

Where is this leading?

versus

Screw the consequences!

‘Who’s going to pay for this’ versus ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’. ‘Let the real People decide’ versus ‘They can’t tell shit from sugar’. ‘You never know’ versus ‘We know Better’. Caution versus casus belli. Edvard Beneš versus Hitler. Free Speech elections versus Vote Early and Often.

And ultimately of course, American Republic versus USSR2. As Stalin averred, “It’s not the votes that count, but rather who counts the votes”.

The conclusion I’ve come to over the last thirty years is that far too many well educated, haute-bourgeois members of our species demand the ‘Forever Certainty’ of Everyday life because they’re desperate to believe that it will always vanquish The End of Everything.

They’re in denial about the crocodiles in the Nile.

They see the annihilation of the nation in everything and everyone that questions that denial.

And this is the belief system that has enabled the Putchists in the US, Europe and Australasia to persuade us all that Trump must not be allowed back into the White House.

Because Trump and his MAGAs question everything about the correctness of progressives who daren’t say “Merry Christmas any more, let alone, “America and its allies have gone down the wrong road” or, God forbid, “Putin is pissed off because Zelenskyy’s neo-Nazis gave the finger to the 2014 cease-fire at every opportunity and then stuck seven bioweapon labs on the Russo-Ukrainian border”.

Trump represents change, so he’s a liar, a hoaxer, a traitor and he must be gone. He’s also a prat at times, and so he plays into their hands.

Do whatever it takes: frame him, assassinate him, revile him in the media, invent bilge about Russian debts, but get rid of the bastard.

Then we can all live happily ever after in the Settled Science of Everyday Forever la-la-Land.

But there’s another America out there that still wants the Donald in the Oval Office. I wonder what they’re going to do. But then, the Democrats no longer do consequences.
