New marginal polls commissioned in key Scottish seats suggest that six Liberal Democrat seats will change hands, The Slog has learned.
The Conservative Party looks likely to make its first Scottish gains in many years at the General Election, according to sources in the market research sector. But the gains spell trouble for Nick Clegg, whose Party will be the big loser.
The Tory gains on the cards are Selkirk, Roxburgh and Berwick. And the SNP is described as ‘miles ahead’ in Kincardin and West Aberdeen.
But faced with the news late this afternoon, Libdem sources made light of the development.
“We’ve known for some time that at least five Scottish seats are vulnerable” said one, “but our people up there are on the case. This is nothing new”.
