One of the interesting issues that’s been coming up in interviews is the lack of transparency in the operating costs of energy suppliers. I’m assuming that profits are just the visible bit that’s left for shareholders to take from after costs and anything they bank for rainy days?

There’s a lot of talk of their operating costs increasing in ways that seem at odds with their expenses. It’d be interesting to see the debate move away from just profits and onto the underlying accounting.

If operating costs are increasing by – say – ten times the increase in their wholesale costs, then I’d be really curious to see what the rest of those costs actually are, and where that money is going.

I can’t even find a slog logo or an @slog logo on mine let alone a hyperlink. I’ll have to miss this one like all the other ones I couldn’t fathom out. I had begun to wonder why the articles were somstimes so short.

I’ve reached the 2-jumper stage plus thermal vest already and winter is not yet upon us. According to the Farmers’ Almanac, my neck of the woods is forecast to be unusually cold and snowy this year, so not sure how long I’ll be able to hold out – already down to the 30sF at night but having just watched a re-enactment of Scott’s last foray in the Antarctic, one wonders how ordinary mortals could willingly expose themselves to such excruciatingly low temperatures.

Perhaps we should all wear six jumpers, Long-johns and gloves…. and turn our heating off for at least three months… That would be ‘interesting’ for the energy companies wouldn’t it. Of course everyone is too pathetically nesh by half, so no one will really turn the tables on these egregious bastards. I guess people get what they deserve sometimes.

Nor me haha,computer’s are not my forte, I am of ye olde school so more attune to a quill and red candle than a PC:-). Rather wear jumper’s than line the trough’s of the energy companies adding to their multi million pounds greedy gluttonous pigs.Baastaaards!

As a technical expert I strongly recommend
1. Locate the ‘Home’ hyperlink at the ltop left of this pge, just below the @Slog’ logo and strapline
2. Click on it
3. If you cannot see three columns, scroll to the side until the third column comes into view

Having said that I’m not sure how to find pas ‘Drivel(s) of the Day(s)’
