The first Jacobean age saw the advent of the ‘revenge tragedy’ in public entertainment; now that our public life and international relations and theatre have become all but indistinguishable, Brexit provides a plot worthy of Shakespeare or Kyd. Around that time Ben Jonson popularised the ‘comedy of humours’ as now acted out by third-rate trash like Boris of Ucksbridge, God help us.

I don’t know about anyone else but I couldn’t help but read this in Latin. Oh well barba tenus sapientes as the expression goes even if he doesn’t have a beard.

    Dear John
It would appear from your latest slog, that may have been over-sampling the local produce!

Thank God for modern typefaces. The one above is a pain to read.
