All the difference in the World

There are things going on in Gambia that you’d never see in the US, Britain, France or Italy. And vice versa.

    John,

Delighted you are settling in well in Gambia and back on top form.

You are a true star in the firmament.

Stay safe and well in this insane world.

I had major problems getting from Dublin to California through London. Utterly shambolic support from my travel agents. Europe is no longer a “first” world “country”. We are being forced to rely on ourselves, increasingly, As the saying goes “when civitas fails (caring for others) it brings an end to living and the beginning of survival”.

    Take good care.

I suspect that the incompetent Liz Truss is the safer bet. She can’t hide much. Rishi Sunak is well groomed and beguiling in whatever he says, which has no connection to what he may actually think or intend.
Vote for unveiled incompetence this time, folks. John-in-Texas

Long time reader, first time commenter.

Been picking up via an RSS feed for years, but noticed your request for email subs as you work around the “W*rdpr*ss” mafia. Signed up, but did wonder if getting the subscriber list from their grubby mitts was any easier than _The Slog_ backlog? Also curious if you have found a replacement tech/process yet? Not used W*P* before, but have heard many strange tales of “proprietary formats” and other oddities for such a “modern platform.”

Happy you found a less troublesome domain…never been, but being under the thumb of “Princess Banker-boi” does not seem to have much going for it. Happier still to hear the “wee folk” he so graciously lords over have taken to applying some elbow grease and pick up where the Yellow Vests got dropped off.

Got me curious about the history & such about The Gambia…more research!

The “Crazy Old Lady” what just got her first gold medal at the 823rd annual “China-baiting Games” (I assume someone was doing it before Senor Polo) seems to only have two options: either she got permission to “speak on behalf of the President of Ice Cream Lovers North America” or she forgot to check the paperwork & is in violation of the “Logan Act” (“thou shall not speak for the Ice Cream King!”). Not that anyone here pays the least bit of attention to such things…we used to hang traitors, a very, very long time ago.

    Enjoy the change in scenery!

I have never been to Gambia…but the original African Drum – Yes, It cost me about £150 a few years ago. – New and Tight. I can play it a bit…not quite like these guys but John Ward may get invited to a Tabaski “Today we celebrate Tabaski in the Gambia, the feast of sacrifice. Come along to the small village of Kartong, and eat, pray and be together.”

“Badeya drummers in practise. Manjai Kunda, The Gambia”

    a bit jealous,

    John Ward, will be fine,

It was a blind date. We both loved the Beatles. She took me straight into her bedroom and said shush…Maybe we knew each other a bit, from other gigs..???.

But I fell in love with her the moment I saw her
    s
My Ex threw me away, so I told her, after she threw me away

We both knew, it wan’t going to work.

I tried to be really nice about it, and did go and see her again

    She is Really Nice…

My Ex was so Happy for Me…..

If you fall in love – what we had lasts forever…when we are all hippy chicks into the music – You go to Music Festivals, and Camp in Fields, even when you are old.

Cos its fun, and it keeps me fit

“I Saw Her Standing There (Live at Roundhouse, London, England / 2017)”

    We weren’t there..(well Hyde Park a bit)

We went to see the Canadian Band Rush at Stafford Bingley Halls – just an hour down the M6.

I could see her record collection in her bedroom, and it was even better than mine…

We ran straight to the front. Didn’t need any seats. Both really shy.

“RUSH – The Trees & Xanadu (live) 1981 – Moving Pictures Tour”

My Girlfriend (now wife) , is still here with me, and we are both well

We liked The Railway Children Too, but it was not compulsory.

It was O.K, just to be a friend……..then it got a lot better very quickly, when she introduced me to her Mum, who died very recently.

These things happen in life. It’s O.K. It’s totally normal,

Except for The Very Old Malthusian Bastards Currently in Control

But surely even The Neocons, are soon Going to Drop Dead, of Old Age.??

Our (My Wife Said) My First Sunflower gradually opened up its petals this morning. I watched it, whilst reading about petal mines in Ukraine, hoping for a shag..That is what we do on Wednesdays…

I should of course (being a keen photographer), set up my tripod, last night, and with my best camera, set the camera up to do a time lapse photo – one petal, once a minute…My step ladder would have reached to check the focus and everything…

But I again was a bit pissed off, about what is happening in real time, in our human community. I didn’t know when she was going to flower, but she is Beautiful now, Just flowered – at about 10 feet tall.

She will have children, like this girl’s in Nprfolk

You never know how your sunflowers will do.

The ones in the front garden are really slow, basically, because it hasn’t rained much for months

A few years ago, our Sunflowers in Our Front Garden, were so tall, once the kids had restarted School in September…they would stop outside, walking home from school – and just stare at them in amazement.

It was about 11:00am in early September, and this bloke, knocks on our door, as if he was from Newcastle, or coming back from the pub..

He starts off, just looking, and then he brings his camera out, just videoing the front of our house.

He then knocks on our front door, and I answer.. I sort of go who – hi hello (thinking who the fuck are you?)

he says your sunflowers are amazing..

My wife pushes me out of the way, so that I am not impolite….and says to him, they are a lot better in the back garden….Come in…Would you like a cup of tea??

I have no idea who the person is in this photograph, but I reckon we have done 14 feet before, and probably will do again.

My Wife is My Sunflower. She tells me off a lot of the time, for being a lazy bastard, whilst she is working so hard in the garden, whilst it is my job, to fix everything in the house…I have been trying…but its incredibly hot , plumbing under the bath, trying to fix a leak

We kind of grew up in Norfolk, on boats on The Norfolk Broads. We even invited our Parents on Numerous Occasions.

My Mum, always turned up, even she was 79 years old and frail. She was fine.

My wife and kids loved her to bits, and were so helpful and supportive of Grannie, getting on and off this boat. The fact, that the next weekend, back in her own home, and sat down, and missed her chair, in the kitchen is not the point..

Her support network in the Wirral – the NHS (and my Older Brother and Family)

The NHS, gave her a new hip, and tested her heart…Would you like a new ticker? Sure fine…go for it.

She kind of lost it a bit when she was 86, but went straight to heaven. I witnessed it.

Whilst, you have no say, in the process of choosing your Mum..You obviously want your Mum, to fall in love with your new Girlfriend, so life goes on.

The WEF promotes a food system that does not include animal foods or require a large land footprint. In fact, the WEF has deemed that we should get used to eating bugs and drinking reclaimed sewage. Both are now being rolled out. Here in the UK The Food Standards Agency has launched a consultation re eating insects note the deadline to respond 10th August. https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/consultations/consultation-on-transitional-arrangements-for-edible-insects-in-great-britain

Glad, you like Gambia – and Cash

As someone who believed in the democratic process, all my life, and came up with every argument, I could think of, to convince both of my kids to vote – 18 & 21 years old at the time – they defeated every argument, I could come up with, quite comprehensively. I thought where did learn all this – at school?

I even tried, my worst argument, (really scraping the barrel) I could think of.

The voting centre, at the time, was in their local Primary School. I know they both had a happy time there, even with quite different skills (my daughter was extremely good at art, whilst my son was as if an aficionado of LS Lowry drawing stick men, with a pencil, but not bothering to colour it in). Both my wife and I knew exactly what she was thinking – Most of the teachers there were really good.

I said well just go back to your old school, just to see what the voting process is like..

I think it highly unlikely they had been watching George Carlin…but was as if they were both conspiring against my arguements – with the crunch…

“Dad – All these people are totally corrupt. They are all horrible people. Please do not vote for any of them. They are not worth your vote”

So I didn’t vote for quite a long time, but I did vote for BREXIT – out of The Totally Corrupt EU, and I know John Ward will not approve of this, but I did vote Labour, when Jeremy Corbyn, would probably have been elected, and the people of Scotland, would probably have gained some form of Scottish Independence (I am convinced that they did vote for it)

Except I am almost certain that GCHQ and other operators (notably the Labour Party in Scotland New Labour in England), totally bent the vote.

But These “Intelligence” Actors, do not always get the Result, they are paid to achieve.

Whilst they undoubtedly bent The BREXIT vote, they were too overconfident, and didn’t bend it enough. The reason they were over confident, was about an unfortunate co-incidence in the run up to the election, ie the “Death” of Jo Cox, who I was later informed, by someone I trust, and should know was an “Intelligence Asset”

The USA is even more blatantly bent, when it comes to Elections. It’s not that difficult to spot…

I suspect that whoever is in charge of the WEF Brigade, will try their best to get, who they think is their Candidate “elected”

    Whilst I don’t vote.

Leaders are the lowest form of life. They are expert only in juggling. The viewer tires of the motion due to monotony. The acts of these slave peddlers is becoming noticeable to even the lesser animals who will have something to say some day. Maybe. They may even revolt. If they get mad, the game might change.
When the leaders have to juggle hand grenades that have little cords tied to the pin that come loose should they not keep the perfect circle going ad infinitum. Betting parlours will put odds on how long the clown can perform and the masses will have something not rigged to bet on for a change.

”A YouGov poll shows that Liz Truss has extended her lead over Rishi Sunak in the
Conservative leadership race to 34 points, with 60 per cent of party members now saying they
will vote for the foreign secretary to succeed Boris Johnson as prime minister’.’

And pray tell, we should believe that why?

After all, it’s in the MSM, by default, it’s a lie.

Thanks John for another neat summary of the current decline – since when hasn’t it been current?

Truss will no doubt be voted in. I for one hope so as her election may galvanise the Left to actually break with the Labour grandees and form a real alternative. We can see how Truss will turn out after she ditched her flagship promise to fleece public sector workers and cut wages – all in a time of state-engineered austerity. Faced with resistance she folded.

Corbyn has been suspended from the Labour Party and is now facing a permanent eviction because he dared question the logic behind fuelling the Ukraine conflict. Let’s hope Starmer kicks him out as this may offer another opportunity for the Left to break with Labour and form a party that will take on the Establishment.

Meanwhile, you may have noticed the smoke…that’s Rome burning.

Oi, who’s having an insurrection without telling me.

On a fun note the BBC is in foot shooting mode again – https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2022-08-02/critique-bbc-documentary-unvaccinated. Why not Vicky or Nazarin for PM? I’d vote for them.

Interesting article on Covid & Africa. Makes a whole lot of sense to this feller. Gambia is a Shangri-La for UK drummers; we know many who have gone their for drum camps and loved the place. Good choice.
