Where do you start on something that never ends?

It’s six years since Brexit, and still the europhiles think it’s the biggest mistake Britain ever made. Once again this morning, it’s trending on Twitter. Am I the only one who thinks Britain, the US and the EU can never be unified again? Is it time to start looking at the greater potential for achievement elsewhere? The Slog lays out the case.

Who on Earth would ever want the job of pacifying Trumpers and Democrats, Macronites and Gilets Jaunes, Leavers and Remainers, Jabbers and doubters, EUNATOs and Putinistas or The New York Times and Fox News?

Last time I was in Gambia was the end of the 80’s… the guide on the dilapidated mini bus, pointed out the presidents home who had recently been put back into power by the British SAS. The guide also pointed out the political prison where they kept the oppositions political prisoners, and he showed us the entrance to the British SAS camp, who were keeping the president in power.

14 years later in 2004, Margret Thatchers son, Mark Thatcher helped finance a failed coup in Equatorial Guinea lead by ex British Army Michael Mann, who received Margret Thatchers blessing on the endeavor.

Like mother, like son… the same stuff goes on today everywhere… even if the methods change.

Wealth Stratification in the world was most visibly polorised between countries… but as the poor countries slowly get richer… it’s inevitable that wealth stratification becomes more visibly polorised within countries. Hence the situation in the UK… for some to be rich, many others must be poor.

A friend of mine moved to London and married an Englishwoman. She thinks I’m the most terrible bigot, because I keep telling her to stop treating Africans like Europeans, it is racist, because they are different, they do not share many of your ideas ofwhat you consider values. At best, they see your obsessive fawning as the weakness of a perpetual victim; easy prey.
Try as I might, I could never get into her libtard head that “different” does not mean “less than”. I don’t look down upon them, but I also do not regard them with the same standards; they do get some leeway in observing our etiquette, while still observing your own moral guide, for example.
I find it resfreshing to hear an Englishman willing to accept that cultural divide. Not backwardness, but a different direction in development.
In my experience, noble savages are way outnumbered by savage noblemen, in Africa that fact is not as well hidden as in Europe.
When it comes to the sense of humour, the best I can say is, they can be a bit funny regarding that….

We built a cement plant in Benin for a Senegal client and had a Gambian (owned by Lebanese) based firm build our second power plant.
The foreign community is primarily Lebanese and French who’ve gone bush and the only one flying the rainbow flag for ‘western values’ was/is the US Embassy. I never met a single foreigner who was in a hurry to go back.
Of all the countries I’ve worked in that was one of my best, it helped me virtually forget how screwed up and aggravating our part of the world has become.

Laid back and quite poor but friendly. Watch out for the British women 40yo+ out for the big bamboo. I understand you find them in hotels.

I know very little about sub-Saharan Africa, and I don’t know your reasons, John, for selecting Gambia, which for all I know may be a perfectly nice place.

But I can’t help thinking that you might soon get bored. The absence of things you (or I, or many other people) don’t like about the globalist-run ‘first world’, achieved by living in an African backwater, may perhaps turn out to not be a very satisfying solution.

I am reminded of a favourite novel of mine: ‘Travels with my Aunt’, by Graham Greene. The Aunt had lived a very colourful life, to say the least – and very wisely, I think, had concluded that in her old age, an exciting world of colour and ever-present risk of being arrested or murdered was infinitely preferable to waiting for death in some English suburb.

The aged aunt’s long-time lover, a war criminal and Nazi collaborator known to Interpol as ‘the viper’, were living a precarious life of feast or famine in Paraguay, depending on the fortunes of a smuggling operation her lover had invested the Aunt’s last drop of money into, using a beaten-op old Dakota plane.

Liable to be arrested or shot at any moment depending on the vagaries of local politics and corrupt police, but hosting a lavish party attended by the city’s elite in the dilapidated mansion funded by their first successful smuggling run, she felt alive, and would have chosen no other life.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Aunt. Obviously, everyone’s different – but for me at least, living a life where there is uncertainty and colour, where one is very definitely alive, and where there is the excitement of some great prize to be had, and the danger of failing, is infinitely preferable to just just watching the weeks, months and years pass away, with nothing much to look forward to.

The UK government – every UK government since Thatcher – is run by globalist glove puppets. Since both Labour and the fake ‘conservative party’ are 100% globalist, that is not going to change.

The EU is similarly run by globalist glove puppets.

Since both the UK and the EU are controlled by the same global cabal, the very idea that there would be any genuine Brexit is completely absurd!

The utterly corrupt Tory leadership simply said to themselves: “Look, we’ve got no choice but to pretend to be Brexiteers, and do a fake Brexit.”

For me, and millions like me, the only result of Brexit has been that we’re no longer able to stay in any EU country for more than three months at a stretch. In other words, we lost the one benefit of being in the EU, and gained absolutely zero.

I see Jerry Hall is in the news (personally, I think my wife and I look better – I used to be a child model – strange but true)

A few years, before I met my wife, I did get a date. I had a white Triumph GT6 sports car (cheap little version of a jag e-type) – still as sexy as fuck, as was my date..She said sure that will be great..

So I get the tickets to see Roxy Music, but like a fool, did not phone her up every night, until the night before, she agreed she was definitely coming to see Roxy Music at Belle Vue which would have been our second date…I will pick you up at 7:30..

So I went by Myself, with a spare seat next to me…

In my honest opinon, Roxy Music were completely utterley and totally Brilliant…and she missed them – stupid cow.

John Ward, Hope you make some good friends in the Gambia. Are you near the sea?

That was our theory (me and Paul) when we were 16, studying maths, physics, chemistry, biology and General Science for our “A” Levels at Ashton-U-Lyne College of Further Education

Of course we both utterly and completely socially useless.

She was the most Beautiful Girl, we had ever seen, yet we did talk to her a bit – mainly in the library.

She wasn’t in our Class, but she had wrote her name and address, on her school bag. I knew exactly where she lived. I had a motorbike. Paul didn’t but he was a very clever lad.

He probably got the Girl – seriously she was Georgeous, shy Beautiful Innocent and nice too.

Cos My Mate, Paul, did not turn up for his “A” Level exams…even I thought wtf – he was the cleverest guy here.

We got chatting to each other, about life, science, religion, physics, time, and the universe, and we developed our theory together when we were 16 year old boys, mainly studying maths and physics and 16 year old girls.

We were not into any Religion. We thought our theory was original, but it had been numerous times, by civilisations long before Jesus Christ reportedly turned up in a crib in Bethlehem…

Our theory was mainly about time. Our current civilisation was brainwashed to believe that time was a straight line…goes zero to infinity…it was either Paul or me, that came up with the idea, that this made absolutely no sense, despite the in depth physics we were studying – even pre “A” Level British Education at the time – late 1960’s eary 1970’s was State of the Art, and Free, even if in reality most of us were virgins (despite the opinion polls)

I asked the same question in class, when I was 5, and got strapped for it..

So who made God?

What was there, before God turned up?

I am only asking questions.

We are all pretty much the same.

I have no idea, what if anything, from my perception happend after I am dead.

But after, what may be an almost infinity of time which when you are dead , you have no awareness of, your next thought, may be sucking your own thumb, in your mother’s womb, and hearing all these strange muffled noises..

And get born again … You are hardly going to remember it are you?

But sometimes, both my wife and I get this sense of

May I suggest the following, if you want to help Gambia without too much Western interference.
1) Read (if you haven’t already) The Beautiful Tree by James Tooley.

Hi JW, congratulations on your recent move. You’re certainly a man who ‘walks the walk’ and has the courage of his convictions and for that I salute you, and wish you the best of luck in your new venture.
Nearly 40 years ago I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel to India and stay with an Indian family for 6 weeks. To say it was a culture shock would be an understatement! A pasty white northern lad, from a small town that didn’t even have an Indian restaurant, transported into the bosom of an Indian family in a large town where the only other white faces were those of people with albinism.
However the lessons I learned during this time have stayed with me for the rest of my life. I guess the most important being that just because something is different doesn’t mean it’s wrong and you can’t apply western standards to other cultures. To explain I was appalled that the woman who helped with the cooking and her son ,who was the houseboy , lived in the garage at the side of the house. However it was explained to me that if they didn’t stay there they would be on the streets. A valuable lesson in not passing judgement.
The friend I was visiting , who had lived in various other countries, also had an expression when it came to people ‘the sky is blue everywhere ‘.
It was a wonderfully happy time in a very loving and caring place.
I try and pass this wisdom on to my grandchildren along with the mantra question everything and there is no such thing as settled science. Not an easy task when battling a school that tried to enforce parents to mask up outside when collecting the children and where the school was decked out in blue and yellow within days of the Ukraine war kicking off!

Interestingly, Sting at concert in Warsaw made a speech about democracy, it’s highly unusual for a prominent ‘celebrity’ to take such a stand. If you can find it, you can if you look for M*x I**an’s latest video, it’s only a couple of minutes but, again, highly unusual in today’s current climate. Suspect there will be some repercussions.
Anybody note TeddyBoy of the wilful harm organisation has evaded the the dreaded sharp point? His ‘excuse’ is disingenuous to say the least.
